Schley-Sumter-Macon Joint Development Authority

The Operational Business Plan of the Schley-Sumter-Macon Joint Development Authority is:

• To meet quarterly.  Meetings will be held on the second Thursday of the middle month of each quarter.

• To  discuss economic development issues which impact each community and the region.
• To promote job creation, retention and economic development opportunities.
• To bring awareness to qualifying industries the benefits of increased job tax credits.
• To promote joint assets in selling the "bigger picture" regarding larger labor market draw, industrial inventory and consolidated regional leadership.

LOW INTEREST LOANS

The authority received a USDA grant to establish a revolving loan fund.  Low interest loans are available to assist existing and emerging small businesses in the Schley, Sumter and Macon Joint Development Authority area with qualified projects, which include job creation and capital purchases. Loan applications may be obtained from the Americus Sumter Payroll Development office located at 409 Elm Avenue, Americus, GA 31709, phone, (229)924-7007.   Applications that are received will be reviewed and submitted to the Schley-Sumter-Macon Joint Development Authority for consideration if all the qualifications are met.
